Laikipia Campus College was established as a Campus of Egerton University in following the recommendations of a Government Committee appointed to look into modalities of absorbing a double intake of students from Secondary Schools. It was meant to offer Education courses for graduate teacher-training. Since then,

Principal's Welcome message for 2009.

I would like to welcome all first year students to Laikipia University College and commend you for having been successful in the competitive admission to public Universities and in particular Egerton University. Your presence here today is clear indication of your hard work in your academic life.

A University is an accredited institution run by administrative distinguished professionals on behalf of the government. Our chancellor is Ambassador Bethuel Kiplangat. The supreme governing body is University council, which is chaired by Engineer Saidi Sharawe. The Egerton University senate is the second university organ chaired by vice chancellor, Prof. James Tuitoek, assisted by three deputy Vice Chancellor, and the University registrars ( Administrative and Academic Affairs)
